This headline makes it sound like real massacre:
2000 Reindeers killed by eagles
Reindeer owners received a total of NOK 26.4 million (USD 3.9 million) for 11,400 tame animals that they claim were lost to predators in the time period April 1, 2004-April 1, 2005, newspaper VG reports. Of these, 2,000 were reportedly lost to golden eagles.
I guess these eagles are the size of an F-16, fully loaded and twice as deadly...
So if your going to go hiking across the Finnmarksvidda -- don't forget to pack an UZI (in your travel kit). You never know when you might need it.
