Interview with Bat Ye'or on Eurabia

Bat Ye'or, a world leading scholar on Dhimmitude is interviewed by Stephen Crittenden in the Religion Report. The Full transcript can be found here!

Stephen Crittenden: Well tell us about this policy. Tell us about the structures that have helped to put it in place. You talk about the Euro-Arab Dialogue, the EAD, what is that and when was it started?

Bat Ye’or: Yes, it started with France, between France and Libya with Colonel Gadaffi, and first of all it started a long time in the French surrounding of General de Gaulle. There were pressures brought onto him to open to the Muslim world, and that meant to cool its relations with Israel, which were very friendly at this time. So it was one or the other. So we see this policy already put in place by General de Gaulle, but General de Gaulle, in the construction of Europe, France was small, it was one element. So General de Gaulle tried to bring Germany into the scheme. It was the two motors of Europe at this time. Europe was represented, the European Community was represented by six countries and then by nine countries, but Germany and France were the important and they imposed on the other countries which were Belgium, Luxembourg, small countries and Italy; they imposed the vision of Eurabia which according to the arrangements to the agreement between the European Community and Arabic countries, would be based on a European policy different from America, which will bring Europe as a counterweight to America and American policy, and a hostile policy towards Israel. It means that the Europeans will recognise the existence of the Palestinian people, that it will recognise the PLO and allow them to open representations in the European capitals; it will recognise Arafat as the sole legitimate representative of the PLO, and it will work for the legitimisation of the PLO and its view. It is not only political, the organisation of the Islamic Conference and the Arabic have made the point of supporting the PLO against Israel; a cardinal point for economic arrangements and markets with Europe. Whoever would support the PLO would obtain tremendous petrodollar market. It was the PLO which would open the door of Europe towards the Arab world.

Her book Eurabia will be out in 2005.

Calendar

I have just bought my calendar. I hate to call it christmas calendar. The christians have tried to coopt the pagan yuletide under the motto: if you can't beat them, join them and then corrupt and coopt them from the inside.

They took over the Roman saturnalia feast, they coopted the 25th of  December(and 24th as well), the birthday of Mithras and falsely claimed it was the birth of Jesus. All in the name of political intrigue. They have tried to make "nissen" or "tomten" into Santa Claus or saint Nicholaus. And the Tree which the pagan Europeans took into their homes to celebrate that it is dark and snowy outside, but soon it will be spring and crops will grow. An on top of the tree to further insult the old benevolent pagan tradition the christians place either a star or an angel in the most prominent place thus mocking the true spirit of yule.

Yule is the seasonal celebration that after the longest night of darkness the days will grow longer( By the vikings the "juleblot" was celebrated for about a week from the 21st of December with good food and the giving of gifts in other words bestowing good will on one's fellow man). Still the christians (who use an instrument of torture as their chosen symbol - the Cross) have not been able to wipe out this benevolent and life-worshipping pagan feast. And so they never shall! With all their mutterings against the commercialization of christmas and their incessant pleading for a return to the true meaning of christmas, not realizing that we are returning to the true meaning of christmas, the pagan life-affirming meaning of christmas. And we rally to the chant of - I love the smell of commerce in the morning, baby!!! We are returning to the old ways.

I have bought a calendar with no angels on it and no Jesus Christ. It contains ice-skating hippos in front of a tree. It's really really cute.  And I must add, it contains lots of delicious chocolates which I look forward to devouring with all-consuming pagan life-affirming joy.

In the aftermath of the murder of Theo van Gogh

A dutch member of Parliament has been forced into hiding due to death threats from militant islamists.

"GEERT WILDERS, the Dutch MP and controversial critic of Islam, has two policemen by his side even when in his high-security parliamentary office in case someone tries to decapitate him. Each day, he does not know where he is going to sleep that night, as he is taken from safe house to safe house in a convoy of armoured cars.

He was taken into hiding when police investigating the murder of the film-maker Theo van Gogh on November 2 uncovered a network of radical Muslims with advanced plans to kill Mr Wilders, and other “enemies of Islam”. A video circulating on the internet offered 72 virgins in paradise to any Muslim who beheaded him.

My life has changed completely. I am sleeping very badly. To think that someone plans to kill me is something that no person would have a good night’s rest about,” he said. “Even though I have this protection, I am afraid. Even when I am on the floor of the parliament, I don’t feel comfortable."

Europe is falling apart, but most people are too blind to see it. Instead of freedom we are getting blasphemy laws, and terror instead of security and the protection of rights. Fear everywhere. Sharia is slowly coopting western freedom.

Still, døn't let the bastards grind you down!

Ayn Rand & The Incredibles

I haven't seen this movie yet, but this review had me intrigued.

From the review:

"The intensity with which "The Incredibles" advances its central idea — it suggests a thorough, feverish immersion in both the history of American comic books and the philosophy of Ayn Rand — is startling."

Wow!

But this isn't the only review noticing a connection between Ayn Rand and the incredibles. The Washington Times also pointed this out.

In Google News entering the searchwords Ayn Rand + the Incredibles gave a total of 5 hits. But if you type the same into the Google search-engine: then you get more hits than any sane person would attempt to read!

Cox & Forkum have a bloody brilliant way of concretizing abstract ideas in hilarious cartoons with an intellectual punch. A real uppercut!

Alligator for dinner

Earlier this autumn Trond Myklebust (my Cousin) came over from the US for a short visit.

So we all got together and had Aligator Etouffe and Sake with Poisenous blowfish. (It is now possible to buy aligator-meat in Norway. Finally, at last!!!)

All in all an excellent meal and great company!

I have just created a new banner for this page. It's not a great banner, but then again I'm no graphic artist or computer wizard. All in all, I don't think it's that bad for a first attempt.

So for the time being I will be keeping it until I'm able to create something better. And that will probably be a while.

Well, I'm still impressed. Typepad is very well organized and contains quite a few features that I have missed in other blogging providers.

Trial Period

I have tried blogger, blogdrive and a few others before now. Haven't really been satisfied with those services. Now I'm going to try out Typepad. So far I'm quite impressed.
